Wednesday, July 8, 2009 ·

This car tutorial will teach you how to add a hood scoop to a bonnet of a car. You will need an image of a car and an image of a hood scoop for this effect. I have used free stock images which are available from everystockphoto.com

Add hood scoop to car

Step 1

Open an image of a car.

And an image of a hood scoop in Photoshop.

Step 2

Select the lasso tool (L) and make a rough selection around the hood scoop like below:

Step 3

Choose Edit > Copy to copy the hood scoop then select your other image and select Edit > Paste. Now select the free transform tool Ctrl + T and resize the hood scoop to your preferred size. To get the hood scoop to the correct position, select Edit > Transform and choose either the skew or distort tools and adjust accordingly.

Step 4

Select the eraser tool and remove any access from the hood scope layer. Then select the smudge tool and blend in the edges. Now change the blending style to luminosity. You can experiment with the various blending styles if you wish.

You should now be able to add a hood scoop to car.
